1) Safety First
First things first, don’t forget the proper attire. Be sure to purchase rubber gloves, masks, and even hairnets before embarking on your journey to a spotless home. Wearing protective clothing helps prevent skin irritations and allergic reactions from acting up.
2) Make a Checklist
Spring-cleaning your home can get pretty overwhelming. Save yourself the stress by jotting down a plan of attack beforehand. A spring-cleaning checklist will help you get organized and stay on-task!
3) Shake Off the Doormats
Doormats are your first defense against dirt, germs, and other nastiness about to enter your home. It’s a good idea to wash, shake and slap your mat to ensure it can get the job done. If your doormat is looking a bit worse for wear, it may be time for an upgrade.
4) De-clutter
Not only does eliminating clutter make your home look nicer, it literally helps bring down your stress levels. Opt to start the season a little more zen and tackle any clutter that’s hanging around the house. Spend some one-on-one time with your closet, junk drawer and home office to get started.
5) Clean the Carpets and Finish the Floors

Although most dust congregates on the floor and other surfaces in your home, walls, and windows need love too! Clean off blinds and walls using a wet rag. If you’re feeling extra ambitious, take it a step further and clean your window screens from the outside of your home too!
